CBSE BEGINS REVIEW OF CCE, OPTIONAL CLASS X EXAM



CBSE chairman R K Chaturvedi said on Tuesday that the board was consulting stakeholders on the issue. “A majority says having a dual system for class X exams is confusing. These exams are linked with CCE, and there again most stakeholders feel a number of redundant elements can be done away with,

CBSE chairman R K Chaturvedi announced the move at a media briefing on Tuesday. The board had introduced a three-tier re-evaluation system for Class XII candidates in 2014. Students and parents TOI spoke to termed the latest move as “unfair“. While the options of verification of marks (calculation errors) and access to photocopy of evaluated answer scripts will continue, the final stage of re-evaluation (complete check of answers) has been discontinued.CBSE reasoned that a negligible percentage of students actually applied for re-evaluation and, that in case of any discrepancies, they could approach the regional offices.
